Auf der Autobahn A8 die Ausfahrt 25 (Wilderswil) nehmen und dann talaufwärts Richtung Lauterbrunnen fahren. Das Dorf durchqueren und kurz nach der Weissen Lütschine links in Richtung Altersheim abbiegen. Parken am Ende der Strasse bei einem Sportplatz oder im Parkhaus am Bahnhof Lauterbrunnen.

On the A8 highway, take exit 25 (Wilderswil) and then drive up the valley towards Lauterbrunnen. Cross the village and turn left shortly after the Weisse Lütschine towards the retirement home. Park at the exit of the road at a sports field or in the parking garage at Lauterbrunnen train station.

Vom Parkplatz aus zum Bahnhof und den Zug bis zur Station Wengernalp nehmen. Von dort aus gehen Sie auf dem Weg in Richtung Osten, der bald unter der Bahnlinie hindurchführt. Weiter geht es auf dem Weg hinunter zur Seilbahnstation in Richtung Biglenalp. Nach der Seilbahnstation folgen Sie dem Weg, der um einen Bergrücken herumführt. Man wandert weiter bergab, immer noch in Richtung Biglenalp, bis zu einem Steg über den Trümmelbach (Wasserstandskontrolle, 1739 m ü. M.). Bleiben Sie auf dem Weg am rechten Ufer bis zur nächsten Brücke, Einstieg Trümmelbach III (1715 m ü. M.). Weiter auf dem Pfad entlang des Baches, immer noch am rechten Ufer. Nach 200 m kommt man an Häusern vorbei, dann führt der Weg 200 m weiter in den Wald. Man überquert den Zaun auf der linken Seite (Steinhaufen und rot gemalte Punkte auf den Bäumen) und geht so gut es geht im Wald hinunter (den roten Markierungen folgen), in Richtung Südwesten, um kleine Felsen herum. From the parking lot, walk to the train station and take the train to Wengernalp station. From there, take the path heading east, which soon passes under the railroad line. Continue on the path down to the cable car station in the direction of Biglenalp. After the cable car station, follow the path that leads around a mountain ridge. Continue hiking downhill, still in the direction of Biglenalp, until you reach a footbridge over the Trümmelbach (water level control, 1739 m above sea level). Stay on the path on the right bank until the next bridge, entry Trümmelbach III (1715 m a.s.l.). Continue on the path along the stream, still on the right bank. After 200 m you pass houses, then the path leads 200 m further into the forest. Cross the fence on the left (pile of stones and red painted dots on the trees) and descend as best you can in the forest (follow the red markings), heading southwest, around small rocks. We walk to a hill (1615 m above sea level), still in a south-westerly direction. Turn left around this small hill and then descend to the south. Watch out for the canyon on the left. As soon as the path is too exposed, you should attach ropes to the trees. A first 65 m rope length in the grassy slope leads past a 4 m high rock. The second pitch of 55 m starts at a tree and leads over cracked slabs (4 crevasses, watch out for the stainless steel bolts) down to the stream and the start of the tour. Alternatively, climb after Trümmelbach III.

Die Trümmelbach-Sektion IV ist der längste und potentiell gefährlichste Abschnitt aller fünf Sektionen. Es wird dringend empfohlen, mindestens einen kompletten Satz Steigeisen, Eispickel und Eisschrauben mitzunehmen. Je nach Verhältnissen können in der Schlucht unterhalb des Giessener Gletschers noch grosse Schnee- und Eisfelder vorhanden sein. Zudem ist im Bereich des Giessener Gletschers mit Steinschlag zu rechnen und eine rasche Querung dieses Abschnitts wird wegen unvorhersehbarem Eis- und Steinschlag empfohlen. Abgesehen vom Gefahrenpotenzial bietet dieser Abschnitt unglaublich schöne Sequenzen in einer atemberaubenden Gegend. Rechter Hand ragen die Felsflanken über 2000m hoch zum Schwarzmönch und zur Jungfrau auf. Die Schlucht ist sehr abwechslungsreich und bietet eine Vielzahl von verschiedenen Möglichkeiten. Sequenzen in verschiedenen Felsen, immer wieder unterbrochen mit Gehpassagen. Sie ist nicht so gut und durchgehend wie Trümmelbach Ill oder Trümmelbach V. Ideal ist es, diesen Abschnitt mit Trümmelbach Ill oder mit Trümmelbach V zu kombinieren, um einen anstrengenden und vollen Canyoningtag zu haben.

Trümmelbach section IV is the longest and potentially most dangerous part of all five sections. It is strongly recommended that you take at least one complete set of crampons, ice axe and ice screws with you. Depending on the conditions, there may still be large patches of snow and ice in the canyon below the Giessen Glacier. In addition, rockfall is to be expected in the area of the Giessen Glacier and a quick crossing of this part is recommended due to unpredictable ice and rockfall. Apart from the potential dangers, this part offers incredibly beautiful sequences in a breathtaking area. On the right hand side, the rock faces rise over 2000m to the Schwarzmönch and the Jungfrau. The canyon is very varied and offers a multitude of different possibilities. Sequences in different rocks, repeatedly interrupted by walking passages. It is not as good and continuous as Trümmelbach Ill or Trümmelbach V. It is ideal to combine this part with Trümmelbach Ill or Trümmelbach V for a strenuous and full day of canyoning.
