Auf der Autobahn A8 die Ausfahrt 25 (Wilderswil) nehmen und dann talaufwärts Richtung Lauterbrunnen fahren. Das Dorf durchqueren und kurz nach der Weissen Lütschine links in Richtung Altersheim abbiegen. Parken am Ende der Strasse bei einem Sportplatz oder im Parkhaus am Bahnhof Lauterbrunnen.

On the A8 highway, take exit 25 (Wilderswil) and then drive up the valley towards Lauterbrunnen. Cross the village and turn left shortly after the Weisse Lütschine towards the retirement home. Park at the exit of the road at a sports field or in the parking garage at Lauterbrunnen train station.

Vom Parkplatz aus zum Bahnhof und den Zug bis zur Station Kleine Scheidegg und weiter mit dem Zug zum Eigergletscher. Seit Ende 2020 besteht die Möglichkeit, ab Grindelwald den Eiger-Express zu nehmen, der Sie in 15 Minuten direkt zur Eigergletscher-Station bringt. Von der Station Eigergletscher wandern Sie auf einem blau-weiss markierten Weg weiter hinauf, der anfangs entlang der Bahnlinie verläuft. Der Weg ist an einigen Stellen ausgesetzt, aber es gibt feste Handleinen, die Ihnen über die steilen Abschnitte helfen. Weiter geht es auf dem Pfad bis auf eine Höhe von 2680m, von wo aus man die Querung nach rechts durch das lockere Felsfeld zum Beginn der Schlucht beginnen kann.

From the parking lot to the train station and take the train to Kleine Scheidegg station and continue by train to the Eiger Glacier. Since the exit of 2020, it has been possible to take the Eiger Express from Grindelwald, which takes you directly to the Eiger Glacier station in 15 minutes. From the Eiger Glacier station, you continue hiking up on a blue and white marked trail, which initially runs along the railroad line. The path is exposed in some places, but there are fixed hand lines to help you over the steep parts. Continue along the path to an altitude of 2680m, from where you can begin the traverse to the right through the loose rock field to the start of the canyon.

Der Canyon ist vor allem am Anfang eher ein Mini-Canyon, was Tiefe und Breite betrifft. Das Wasser hat einen sehr schmalen und kleinen Schlitz in Richtung der ersten Abseilstellen gegraben. Nach den ersten Wasserfällen setzt sich der Canyon in sehr schön geschliffenem Felsen fort und wird immer tiefer. Es hat immer wieder teils steile abkletterstellen, dies stellt bei den enorm griffigen Felsen jedoch kein Problem dar. Der Canyon mit seiner schönen Aussicht und Umgebung ist ein großes Abenteuer. Am Ende geht es direkt vor dem Eisfeld weiter und es ist empfehlenswert, Trümmelbach Il in die gleiche Tour einzubauen, da diese Kombination hervorragend funktioniert. Wenn Trümmelbach Il angehängt werden soll, kann nach Umgehung des Schnee-/Eisfeldes in den gleichen Bach eingestiegen und einige schöne Abkletterstellen und Rutschen gemacht werden, bis man den Anfang des Trümmelbachs II erreicht. Achtung: die Pättli auf den Harken fehlen gerne mal, auch wenn kurz vorher schonmal wer drinnen war. Besser mal ein paar Plättli und M10 Mutter+Scheiben in SS316 mitnehmen.

The canyon is more of a mini-canyon in terms of depth and width, especially at the beginning. The water has ditched a very narrow and small slot towards the first abseiling points. After the first waterfalls, the canyon continues in beautifully polished rock and gets deeper and deeper. There are always some steep downclimbs, but this is not a problem with the enormously grippy rocks. The canyon with its beautiful views and surroundings is a great adventure. At the exit, the route continues directly in front of the ice field and it is recommended to include Trümmelbach Il in the same tour, as this combination works excellently. If Trümmelbach Il is to be appended, you can enter the same stream after bypassing the snow/ice field and do some nice downclimbs and slides until you reach the start of Trümmelbach II. Caution: the plates on the rakes are often missing, even if someone has been in there shortly before. Better take a few plates and M10 nuts and washers in SS316 with you.

Wenn man nur den Trümmelbach I macht, dann verlässt man den Weg beim Schnee-/Eisfeld nach rechts und traversiert zur Station Eigergletscher, die sich mehr oder weniger auf gleicher Höhe befindet. Wenn man Trümmelbach Il hinzufügt, kann man entweder vom Ende der Schlucht zur Eigergletscherstation hinaufwandern oder zur Wengernalp hinunterwandern, um den nächsten Zug zu nehmen.

If you only do Trümmelbach I, then leave the path at the snow/ice field to the right and traverse to Eigergletscher station, which is more or less at the same altitude. If you add Trümmelbach Il, you can either hike up from the exit of the canyon to the Eigergletscher station or hike down to Wengernalp to catch the next train.
