Por la C16 por Berga a Guardiola de Berga o por la C17 a Ripoll y la N260 a Campevanol. En ambas opciones por la B402-Gi402 que une las localidades de Campdevanol y Guardiola. A 8kms de Campevanol tenemos Gombrèn y desde aquí 2,6 kms hasta una curva a izquierdas en un puente en el que sale a la derecha una carretera a Castellar de n'Hug y Montgrony. Remontamos este bonito valle en la cara sur del Cadí hasta el desvío (izquierda Castellar y derecha Montgrony), seguimos por la izquierda hacia Castellar. Pasaremos por el Castell de Mataplana hasta el Refugio y collado de la Espluga. Justo en el collado hay una curva de 90º a derecha, aquí tenemos 3 opciones. 1.- Nos metemos por la pista que sale de frente y aparcamos por aquí. 2.- Seguimos la pista de frente durante 1 km hasta un claro en el que podremos aparcar (tenemos la salida del barranco allí abajo). 3.- Seguir hacia la cabecera. Si seguimos por la carretera o tenemos dos coches continuaremos hacia Castellar durante 2kms hasta una curva de derechas de casi 90º que tiene un apartadero a la izquierda desde el que vemos marcas que nos bajan al río

Desde el apartadero superior es directo por las marcas hacia el río. Desde los aparcamientos inferiores tenemos que subir a la carretera y seguirla hasta la curva reseñada.

Descenso entretenido aunque sin mucha entidad, un primer rápel sin gran cosa para entrar en una zona de andar. Luego destrepes y toboganes se suceden para llegar a la parte final que tenemos los R3 y R4 que se pueden encadenar y el R5 de 16m que es el más largo

Tras este rápel saldremos a la izquierda por el arroyo Empriuet, lo remontamos unos metros y por su derecha orográfica hay una antigua pista que nos subiría a la curva de la carretera. Si tenemos el coche en la pista deberemos cruzar el arroyo y buscar sitio para remontar el bosque hasta la pista. Si tenemos el coche arriba podremos buscar, por la derecha orográfica del arroyo, la mejor manera de subir a los prados aledaños a la carretera y desde ahí seguirla hasta el coche.
