Schnellstraße VE2 von Seixal bis Porto Moniz. Mit nur einem PKW kann man ggf. in Ribeira Funda parken. Größe Gruppen mit mehreren Fahrzeugen sollten am Ortsausgang von Seixal (Siehe Parkplatz "Zustieg und Austieg") parken, was den Zustieg erheblich verlängert.

VE2 highway from Seixal to Porto Moniz. If you only have one car, you can park in Ribeira Funda. Large groups with several vehicles should park at the exit of Seixal (see parking lot "Access and exit"), which considerably extends the access.

Vom Parkplatz aus durch die Häuser Richtung Süden leicht bergauf. Nach gut 10 Minuten steht man am Einstieg zum Ribeira Funda. Den (hier meist trockenen) Bachlauf überqueren und weiter auf dem schlecht zu erkennenden Weg bleiben bis man zur direkten Nachbarschlucht kommt (ca 25 min). Vom offiziellen Parkplatz aus auf die alte Küstenstraße Richtung Nordwest gehen und ihr bis zu einem alten, steilen Tunnel folgen. Hier weiter der Straße bergauf bis zu ihrem Ende folgen (ca. 40 min, weiter siehe oben).

From the parking lot, walk slightly uphill through the houses to the south. After a good 10 minutes you are at the entry to the Ribeira Funda. Cross the (mostly dry) stream and continue on the poorly visible path until you reach the neighboring gorge (approx. 25 min). From the official parking lot, take the old coastal road heading northwest and follow it until you reach an old, steep tunnel. Follow the road uphill to its exit (approx. 40 min, see above).

Zu Anfang kämpft man etwas gegen manchmal stacheliges Gestrüpp. Im oberen Teil finden sich Abseilstellen von 45, 35 und 20 Metern Höhe. Die Ausrüstung ist OK, mehr aber auch nicht. Mündet in den Ribeira Funda, so dass es mit der wunderschönen Schlusspassage des Funda weitergeht.

At the beginning, you struggle a little against sometimes prickly undergrowth. In the upper part, there are abseils at heights of 45, 35 and 20 meters. The equipment is OK, but nothing more. Leads into the Ribeira Funda, so that you can continue with the beautiful final passage of the Funda.

Am Ende des Funda Canyons nach rechts der alten Straße folgen, bis man eine kleine Mauer übersteigen muss. Nun nach rechts durch die beiden Tunnel zurück zum Auto (ca. 30 min). Wenn das Auto auf dem offiziellen Parkplatz steht, dann einfach nach dem Übersteigen der Mauer der alten Straße weiter folgen, bis sie auf die neue Straße trifft und dann direkt zum Parkplatz (ca. 30 min).

At the exit of Funda Canyon, follow the old road to the right until you have to climb over a small wall. Now turn right through the two tunnels back to the car (approx. 30 min). If the car is parked in the official parking lot, simply follow the old road after crossing the wall until it meets the new road and then directly to the parking lot (approx. 30 min).

Zunächst eher wenig Wasser. Mündet in den Ribeira Funda daher unbedingt Wasserstände des Ribeira Funda beachten!
