Von der alten Verbindungsstraße Bellinzona-Locarno auf der orograf. linken Seite der Verzasca hinauf in Richtung Verzasca-Tal. In der Nähe der Staumauer (etwas unterhalb der entgeltpflichtigen Parkplätze mit der auf 3 Std. beschränkten Parkdauer) das obere Fahrzeug abstellen. \nDas untere Fahrzeug in Tenero möglichst nahe am Schluchtausgang parken. Dahin kommt man, wenn man auf der erwähnten alten Verbindungsstraße (Bellinzona-Locarno) über die Verzasca in westlicher Richtung nach Tenero hineinfährt, bei der ersten Straße links und dann gleich nochmals links abbiegt.

From the old Bellinzona-Locarno connection road, on the orographic left side of the Verzasca, go up towards the Verzasca Valley. Park the upper vehicle near the dam wall (slightly below the paid parking spaces with the parking time limited to 3 hours). \Park the lower vehicle in Tenero as close as possible to the canyon exit. You can get there by taking the old road (Bellinzona-Locarno) across the Verzasca in a westerly direction into Tenero, turning left at the first road and then immediately left again.

Wir gehen über die Staudammkrone (475 m ü.NN), vorbei an der Bungeevorrichtung, an den westlichen Hang der Verzasca. Dort nehmen wir den Pfad in südlicher Richtung, zuerst bergab, dann wieder leicht bergauf. Nach 100 m auf diesem Weg biegen wir auf einen Pfad links hinab ab. Etwa auf 425 m ü.NN verzweigt sich diese Pfad. Wir gehen hier nach rechts immer weiter abwärts. An einem Pylon/Polder endet der Pfad. Es eröffnet sich der Blick auf die Staumauer. Wir halten uns nun nordwärts hinein in die Rinne (ggf. abseilen), folgen dieser abwärts, gehenüber eine fast ebene Stufe nach links (nordöstlich), queren - etwas heikel - den Abhang noch einmal ca. 30 m abwärts und stehen dann bei einem gedrungenen, aber markanten Baum unmittelbar am senkrecht abfallenden Schluchtrand. Vom Baum bis in die Schlucht sind es nicht ganz 50 Meter (die Mitnahme von 2 x 60 m Seil erscheint sinnvoll für den Fall, dass man an einer anderen Stelle den Schluchtrand erreicht).

We walk over the top of the dam (475 m above sea level), past the bungee device, to the western slope of the Verzasca. There we take the path in a southerly direction, first downhill, then slightly uphill again. After 100 m on this path, we turn left onto a path downhill. At around 425 m above sea level, this path branches off. We continue downhill to the right. The path exits at a pylon/polder. A view of the dam wall opens up. We now head northwards into the chute (rappel if necessary), follow it downwards, cross an almost level step to the left (north-east), cross - somewhat precariously - the slope again approx. 30 m downwards and then stand by a stout but striking tree directly on the vertically sloping canyon rim. It is not quite 50 meters from the tree to the canyon (it makes sense to take 2 x 60 m of rope with you in case you reach the canyon rim at another point).

Der etwas andere Canyon, von dessen Begehung von oben her bislang nichts bekannt war. Man kann auch vom Schluchtende aufwärts laufen, aber dann lohnt die Begehung kaum. Beim Hineinseilen und unten in der Schlucht hallen im 5-Minuten-Takt die Schreie der Bungeejumper - die überhängende Staumauer ist rund 200 m hoch - durch die Schlucht.

The somewhat different canyon, of which nothing was known from above until now. You can also walk up from the canyon exit, but then the walk is hardly worth it. When roping in and down in the canyon, the screams of the bungee jumpers - the overhanging dam wall is about 200 m high - echo through the canyon every 5 minutes.

Am Schluchtende nach der Straßenbrücke rechts hinüber schwimmen und auf dem Feldweg hinaus.

At the canyon exit after the road bridge, swim right across and out on the dirt road.
