Situándonos entre Pamplona y Donosti, en el bonito pueblo de Lekunberri con su preciosa vía verde de Plazaola hacia Tolosa por la NA1300 Entre arribe y Betelu, desvío a Gaíntza. Atrevesamos el pueblo y seguimos por un carreterín hasta las últimas casas/fincas. Desde aquí ya veremos la magnífica cascada a descender

Located between Pamplona and Donosti, in the beautiful village of Lekunberri with its beautiful greenway from Plazaola to Tolosa by the NA1300. Between arribe and Betelu, turn off to Gaíntza. We cross the village and continue along a small road to the last houses/fincas. From here we will see the magnificent waterfall to descend.

Seguiremos el GR que sube hace Irumugarrieta, llegaremos a una fuente casi a los 1000m de altitud, al poco el sendero gira hacia el sur (izquierda) y nosotros debemos irnos a la derecha siguiendo una senda perdida y perdedora por unos prados herbosos bastante resbaladizos. Nos adentramos en el bosque y ya sin perder altura iremos buscando una surgencia que alimenta nuestro barranco, seguimos el cauce hasta un primer salto, en rampa con instalación en un árbol a la izquierda.

We will follow the GR that goes up to Irumugarrieta, we will arrive at a spring almost at 1000m of altitude, soon the path turns south (left) and we must go to the right following a lost and losing path through some grassy meadows quite slippery. We enter the forest and without losing altitude we will be looking for a spring that feeds our ravine, we follow the channel to a first jump, ramp with installation in a tree on the left.

Un primer rápel en rampa de unos 30m seguido de otro cortito, caminamos entre ramas y peleando con el entorno para llegar al siguiente rápel cortito antes del R40 colgado que nos da acceso a la gran cascada de más de 60m. Tenemos un primer rápel de 20 y luego otro de unos 47 en una instalación colgada, expuesta y bastante dificultosa. En caso de caudal elevado nos resultará harto complicado encontrarla e instalar así que mejor prever cuerdas de 70m para, llegado el caso, instalar desde arriba hasta el suelo, unos 65m de rápel
