Access: ➜
Vom Autobahnkreuz Autobahnkreuz (Gotthard/Bernardino) im Norden von Bellinzona auf der N 2 nordwärts. Kurz nach der Ortsdurchfahrt von Cresciano li. abbiegen und zur anderen Talseite nach Lodrino (ca. 12 km ab Autobahnkreuz). In die Ortschaft (rechts) hineinfahren und nach der Brücke über den Bach die 3. Straße links. Hinter dem Friedhof (nicht bei er Aufbewahrungshalle) erstes Fahrzeug parken (die Parkplätze vor dem Supermarkt und unter den Bäumen in der Ortsmitte sollten nicht in Anspruch genommen werden). Mit dem zweiten Auto nördlich in Richtung Iragna fahren und nach fast 2 km (ab Lodrino) unmittelbar nach den Häusern von Rodaglio bei einem Gewerbebetrieb (GPS-Koordinaten: 46°19'02.46"N / 8°58'19.70"E ), gleich nach einer unscheinbaren Kapelle links ab auf ein kleines Strässchen, das uns hinaufbringt zu den Häusern von Legri (eine Abzweigung nach re. - Zufahrt zum oberen Iragna - ignorieren) Es geht auf dem Sträßchen immer geradeaus, bis es auf einer freien Fläche (Hubschrauberlandeplatz)endet (bzw sich als Piste in westlicher Richtung fortsetzt). Hier das zweite Auto abstellen. Die Straße zum oberen Parkplatz ist eine Privatstraße mit Maut.
From the freeway junction (Gotthard/Bernardino) north of Bellinzona on the N 2 northwards. Shortly after passing through Cresciano, turn left and drive to the other side of the valley to Lodrino (approx. 12 km from the interchange). Enter the village (on the right) and after the bridge over the stream take the 3rd street on the left. Park your first car behind the cemetery (not at the storage hall) (do not use the parking spaces in front of the supermarket and under the trees in the center of the village). With the second car, drive north towards Iragna and after almost 2 km (from Lodrino), immediately after the houses of Rodaglio, at a commercial establishment (GPS coordinates: 46°19'02.46 "N / 8°58'19.70 "E ), just after an inconspicuous chapel, turn left onto a small road that takes us up to the houses of Legri (a fork to the right). - The road continues straight ahead until it ends in an open area (helipad) (or continues as a dirt road to the west). Park the second car here. The road to the upper parking lot is a private road with toll.
Approach (15 min): ➜
Vom oberen Parkplatz auf der erwähnte Piste abwärts und dort, wo sie eine Linkskurve macht, re. ab auf einen Pfad, der uns in 15 Min. zum Bach hinunterbringt (Einstieg). Falls man nur 1 Auto hat, kann man von Lodrino auf einem Wanderweg aufsteigen nach Legri, kommt dann auf der Teerstr. nach li. zum beschriebenen oberen Parkplatz. Zustieg dann insgesamt etwa 1 Std. 15 Min.
From the upper parking lot, descend on the mentioned slope and where it makes a left turn, turn right onto a path that takes us down to the stream in 15 min (entry). If you have only 1 car, you can go up from Lodrino on a trail to Legri, then take the tarred road to the left to the upper parking area described. Access then about 1 hr. 15 min. in total.
Tour (3 h 30): ➜
Der Lodrino ist nur nach längerer Trockenheit ohne Risiko zu begehen. Wenn man am Ende des Canyons (von der orograf. li. Seite gut zugänglich) in die Engstelle hinaufschaut, bekommt man zumindest einen ungefähren Eindruck von der Situation. Nach einigen kleineren Rutschen und Sprüngen steht man vor der ersten richtigen Abseilstelle, einem gewundenen 15m Kanal. Wenn es der Wasserstand zulässt 15m von links abseilen, oder rechts zum anderen Ende des Gumpens queren und von dort 10m hinunterspringen. Nach ein paar schönen Kurven steht man vor einer fast senkrechten 11m Rutsche. Gefährliche Felsbucht links, beim Auftauchen rechts halten. Kann aber auch links abgeseilt werden. Es folgen ein 8m Abseiler von Haken links und zwei enge, gewundene Felskanäle bevor sich die Schlucht deutlich erweitert (weglose Fluchtmöglichkeit links). Der zweite Teil der Klamm beginnt mit einer 7m Rutsche und einem 7m Sprung in ein tiefes Becken. Es folgt ein sehr fotogener 9m Abseiler (Kann auch gesprungen werden). Die nächste, wild aussehende 5m Abseilstelle entweder im Wasser abseilen oder rechts an Geländerseil umgehen. Beim großen Abseiler von zwei Haken rechts 5m abseilen (Seilgeländer einbauen) um den eigentlichen Stand links unter der Kante zu erreichen. Hier gehts 45m in ein großes Becken hinunter. Hier Fluchtmöglichkeit nach rechts. Rechts am Wehr vorbei und durchs Blockchaos abklettern. Den letzten Wasserfall entweder von rechts 37m im Wasserstrahl abseilen, oder nach links über Fixseile zu einem trockenen Stand queren. Zuletzt nochmal 22m von Stand rechts oben abseilen. Ausstieg möglich auf einem gepflasterten Weg nach dem 45-m-Abseiler. Die Rinne zu Beginn des vorletzten (37-m-)Abseilers kann man zwar vermeiden, wenn man li. oberhalb aus dem Drahtverhau abseilt; nicht vermeiden kann man aber die Turbulenzen unten im großen Gumpen. Kann gut mit Lodrino med. verbunden werden.
The Lodrino is accessible without risk only after prolonged drought. If you look up into the narrows at the exit of the canyon (easily accessible from the orographic left side), you get at least an approximate impression of the situation. After some smaller slides and jumps, you are in front of the first real rappel point, a winding 15m channel. If the water level allows it, rappel 15m from the left, or cross to the right to the other exit of the pool and jump down 10m from there. After a few nice bends, you are in front of an almost vertical 11m slide. Dangerous rock bay on the left, keep right when surfacing. Can also be rappelled left. This is followed by an 8m rappel from anchors on the left and two narrow, winding rock canyons before the canyon widens considerably (pathless escape on the left). The second part of the gorge begins with a 7m slide and a 7m jump into a deep pool. This is followed by a very photogenic 9m rappel (Can also be jumped). The next, wild-looking 5m rappel either rappel in the water or bypass right on traverese rope. At the big rappel from two anchors on the right, rappel 5m (install rope traverse) to reach the actual belaystation on the left under the edge. Here it goes down 45m into a large pool. Here you can escape to the right. Pass the dam on the right and downclimb through the chaos of blocks. The last waterfall either rappel 37m from the right in the water jet, or traverse to the left over fixed ropes to a dry belaystation. Finally, rappel another 22m from the belaystation at the top right. Exit possible on a paved path after the 45m rappel. The chute at the beginning of the penultimate (37m) rappel can be avoided by rappelling out of the wire entanglement on the left above; but the turbulence down in the big pool cannot be avoided. Can be well connected with Lodrino med.

Prinzipiell alles tip top. Nach dem intermedio Teil sind wir leider auf eine unglaubliche Gruppe von ca. 50 Leuten aufgelaufen. Nach 2:45 sitzend am S7 vor dem S9 verbringend, sind wir den T7 wieder hoch geklettert und haben den sehr ungemütlichen Notausstieg genommen. Trotzdem mega Tour…
In principle, everything was tip top. After the intermedio part, we unfortunately ran into an unbelievable group of about 50 people. After spending 2:45 sitting on the S7 in front of the S9, we climbed back up the T7 and took the very uncomfortable emergency exit. Still a mega tour...

Für Lodrino ein gemütlicher Wasserstand. Sind in gemütlichen 40Min. hochgelaufen. Die Anwohner danken, wenn man bei den letzten 2 Abseilern kein Pfeifkonzert veranstaltet (man hat Sichtkontakt).
A comfortable water level for Lodrino. We walked up in a comfortable 40 minutes. The residents thank you if you don't make a whistling noise during the last 2 rappels (you have visual contact).

Majestueux dans ces conditions. Fait en 4h30 pour inter / bas et en débrayant tout les frottements. Certains resserrement sont impressionnant dans ces conditions mais ça passe souvent par dessous les cascades, soit dans le sens logique du courant ou en les évitants. Probably the most geologically stunning canyon I have been in. Sensational carving of the rock thoughout the constrictions. Amazing slides, and cool jumps, combined with super beautiful (and incredibly slippery) abseils! Currently, the roughly 5m fixed line on the right side leading to above the 50m abseil is very coreshot, and needs replacing. Everything else we used was good.

Sehr schönen Canyon. Guter Wasserstand. Viel mehr sollte es aber auch nicht sein. Alle Seil Geländer / Seile zum hochklettern waren in gutem Zustand. Gruppe von 6 Personen. Haben jeweils ca. 2:10 für den mittleren und den unteren Abschnitt gebraucht.
Very beautiful canyon. Good water level. But it shouldn't be much more than that. All rope railings / ropes to climb up were in good condition. Group of 6 people. Took about 2:10 each for the middle and lower parts.

Endlich ist die Schneeschmelze vorbei ! Erstaunlich Viele Algen im Bachbett, aber da wo das Wasser fliesst noch nicht so schlimm. Beim Felsbogen Wasserfall (der Vorletzte Abseiler) scheint das Becken etwa 3m Höher zu sein als sonst, da der eingeklemmte Fels nicht stark siphoniert. Pincascia Wasserfassung bei 0.8 bis 0.9 Kubik als Referenz.
The snowmelt is finally over! Amazingly lots of algae in the streambed, but not too bad where the water flows. At the rock arch waterfall (the penultimate rappel) the pool seems to be about 3m higher than usual, as the jammed rock does not siphon strongly. Pincascia water catchment at 0.8 to 0.9 cubic for reference.

Fantastischer Canyon Kein blockhüpfen sondern durchgehend eng und Action pur Beim zweiten Mal zu zweit in 1,5 h durch (alles springbare gesprungen bzw gerutscht) Die 11m Rutsche war bei uns einfach , man darf nur nicht nach links tauchen/schwimmen. Beim vorletzten abseiler kann man direkt durch den Wasserlauf (also nicht links Seilgeländer rauf - dort außerhalb vom Wasser ) dort dann das Seil je nach Belieben ablängen und den Rest steil in ein donnerndes Becken rutschen.
Fantastic canyon No block hopping but tight throughout and pure action The second time in two in 1.5 h through (all jumped jumped or slid) The 11m slide was easy for us, you just must not dive/swim to the left. At the penultimate abseiler you can directly through the watercourse (so not left rope railing up - there outside of the water) there then cut the rope as desired and slide the rest steeply into a thundering pool.
