Von Bozen etwa 35 km auf der A22 nach Süden, dann abfahren nach Mezzocorona und von da nordwärts zu P2 (Parkplatz Ausstieg) bei den Häusern von Maso Nuovo (siehe Anfahrtsskizze in Fotogalerie). \nMit dem zweiten Auto fahren wir dann zu Talstation der Bergbahn "Funivia Monte"(siehe Umsetzung in Fotogalerie). Auch zu Fuß gut machbar.

From Bolzano about 35 km on the A22 south, then exit to Mezzocorona and from there north to P2 (parking exit) at the houses of Maso Nuovo (see map in photo gallery). \nWith the second car we then go to the valley station of the cable car "Funivia Monte"(see implementation in photo gallery). Also well doable on foot.

Die Seilbahn (einfache Fahrt 5 Euro - 2014) bringt uns schnell auf 890m Höhe. Wir nehmen den Pfad "500", dann "507" in Richtung Malga Kraun. Er mündet in eine Forststraße, der wir folgen. Bald queren wir das Val Piaget. Wir folgen dem Weg insgesamt etwa 60 Minuten. Dann kommen wir zu einem Seitenbach des Val Fredda. Wir können entweder schon über diesen einsteigen oder noch etwas weiter gehen, um direkt in den Hauptbach einzusteigen (siehe Übersichtsskizzen in Fotogalerie).

The cable car (one way 5 euros - 2014) brings us quickly to 890m altitude. We take the path "500", then "507" in the direction of Malga Kraun. It joins a forest road that we follow. Soon we cross the Val Piaget. We follow the path for about 60 minutes in total. Then we come to a side stream of Val Fredda. We can either enter already via this one or go a little further to enter directly into the main stream (see overview sketches in photo gallery).

10 Abseiler; Zuerst einige von Bäumen, das Tal ist noch relativ offen. Dann verengt sich der Canyon und wir kommen zur Schlüsselstelle, dem 130m Wasserfall - "Cascatina Batol". Zunächst 10m zur Kante, dann 30m mit Stand links versetzt auf einem abfallenden Felsband, dann die restlichen 90m. Lt. catasforre.aic ist der 145 m Wasserfall wie folgt ausgestattet: 10-30-45-60 (nicht verifiziert)) Weiter geht es in einem Felschaos mit einigen kleineren Abseilern und Abklettereien. Schließlich noch ein hoher Fall (10m + 65m), bevor wir in der Ebene ankommen. Fluchtwege: vor dem eingeschnittenen Teil kann man aus dem Canyon herausklettern. Im bewaldeten Teil oberhalb des finalen Wasserfalls gibt es einen sichtbaren Pfad der den Canyon kreuzt. Dieser führt ins Tal - ACHTUNG: sehr ausgesetzter Pfad von Schäfern. Es gibt ein Tor, dass ggf. überklettert werden muss. Der Pfad kommt bei der Talstation der Seilbahn heraus.

First 10m to the edge, then 30m with a stance offset to the left on a sloping ledge, then the remaining 90m. According to catasforre.aic, the 145 m waterfall is equipped as follows: 10-30-45-60 (not verified)) The route continues in a chaos of rock with some smaller rappels and climbs. Finally, another high drop (10m + 65m) before we reach the plain. Escape routes: You can climb out of the canyon before the incised part. In the wooded part above the final waterfall there is a visible path that crosses the canyon. This leads into the valley - ATTENTION: very exposed path of shepherds. There is a gate that may have to be climbed over. The path comes out at the valley station of the cable car.
