Falls der letzte Streckenabschnitt in problematischem Zustand ist, das Auto schon kurz nach der Ortschaft Al Wilja abstellen.

Access: From Muscat about 160 km on the highway "17" in the direction of Sur (south). At the Tiwi exit - a few hundred meters before we have crossed the Wadi Shab - we leave the freeway, drive into the village of Tiwi and turn right onto the main road to the wadi of the same name (1.5 km from the freeway). A few meters before reaching the dam built through the wadi, we turn right and drive upstream on the orographic left bank of the Wadi Tiwi in a south-westerly direction. We first drive down by the river, later steeply up the road on the left, cross the river again and then reach the exit on the orographic left slope in the village of Mibam (9.5 km from Tiwi). The road is very narrow for long stretches, and it is not pleasant to avoid oncoming traffic here. We park our car for the return journey before the village of Milbam. Total transfer distance 79 km.

We take the second car back to Tiwi, turn right over the dam and back onto the highway. After 17.5 km we leave the highway, drive around the scattered settlement of Qalhat - initially along the sea - and then under the highway again at the edge of a wadi. The route now climbs uphill to a junction where you keep right towards Hallout (signpost). 21 km after passing under the highway, we pass the junction to the settlement of Hallout, 1 km away. After another 18.7 km we reach the riverbed of the Wadi Tiwi. Immediately after the ford, we turn right and after a few meters we reach the village of Al Wilja.
We continue on and cross the wadi again to the right just a little later. Passing Sur, we take Route 23 inland. After about 50 km we cross the Wadi Bani Khalid for the first time. A little later, "23" curves to the northwest, and we ignore route "35", which branches off to the left 2 km after Wadi B. K.. From this junction we drive 43 km on the "23" in a NNW direction to the next junction of a tarred road to Wadi Bani Khalid. Here we enter the riverbed.
Tour: At first, hiking and downclimbing are the order of the day until we come to the first rappel (50 m). The block from which you rappel into the pot is reached from the left shoulder of the rock. Attach the rope to the small tree at the top. At the bottom we stand in a huge Marmita trampa. The first climber climbs out of it with the help of a few anchors and a chain, allowing the next climber to make an exit with rope assistance. This is followed by the 2nd rappel (35 m) onto a small ledge above the pool (jumping is possible from here), then 3 smaller ones (about 10 m each). Swim, slide and jump several times. We then see a natural "tunnel" at the top left and have now reached the first exit option.
You can also descend the wadi a little further (about 3 hours) to the abandoned village of Harima. Here you can take a look at a cave opening. From Harima, we follow a water pipe that finally exits the wadi. Here we look for the exit to the road on the left. (Quelle: https://www.descente-can...
Approach: From the car, walk towards the orographic left rock face and follow the path that climbs up under the walls. Later it descends into the river bed. We see an old stone carving on a boulder and pass a small sinter pot. Later, on the left, we see a shallow boulder (which you can also swim under) covered with vegetation. Where the river makes a bend of about 90 degrees, there is a cave on the righthand side, from which a spring pours out.\nNormally, this is the turning point. (Quelle: https://www.descente-can...
Access: We come from Muscat on the "15", pass the turn-off to Nizwa in the north after about 155 km, cross the Wadi Mahanna a little later and after another 37 km meet the "21", which comes from Bahla in an easterly direction. We now continue on the "21" in the direction of Ibri, but after 34.8 km (from reaching the "21") we turn right (in a northerly direction) to Al Ayn. After 25.8 km we get there and can take a look at the "beehive tombs" ( Al Ain beheeve tombs) located on a hill. Then we continue for another 11.5 km and the road finds its continuation in the streambed of the Wadi Dham. Depending on the condition of the road and the weather conditions, you can drive up the wadi in a 4x4 vehicle until you reach a large semi-cave within sight of the dam that drains the water. The relays are not always easy to find and the paths are not always obvious.
Several large waterfalls over 100 meters high in a canyon over 1000 meters long. Huge pools.

The large waterfall at the starting point can also be descended. That is an adventure in itself. Some say it is the largest waterfall in Arabia.
