It is also the exit from the Hidan Upper, part II (GPS coordinates: 31°28'35.10 "N / 35°39'28.33 "E). From here it is about 1000m to the 60m entry waterfall.
If you want to be on the safe side, you can take the Hidan Upper, part II from the parking lot ("P 2") and walk in this part for about 3 hours until you reach the waterfall. It also makes sense to walk the Hidan upper II before and then remember the exit for the ascent of the Hidan lower (then as access) (if necessary with GPS logger).
Tour: The entry waterfall ("Barta") has a height of about 60 m (right above the stream). There is now an equipped stand to the left of the stream. There are also two drilled holes with threads for 10 mm bolts (with lugs) directly above the waterfall itself at a distance of around 8 m, which you would have to bring yourself (both). (last verified in 2016).
Apparently there is also a stand about 20m to the right of the waterfall. To do this, climb up a few meters to the right and then traverse down a rocky cirque and - somewhat exposed - a rocky balcony to a chute where we should find the belay - God willing (see video: https://youtu.be/sRH-NuqocrU from 1.30 min). Otherwise you have to set an anchor yourself.
During our ascent in 2016, our guides bypassed the waterfall orographic left (!) and downclimbed into the river bed below the waterfall.
The stratification of sandstone and basalt in this basin, at the base of which we are now standing after the rappel, is interesting.
We walk downstream and come across alternating cold and hot spring tributaries. The hot ones can usually be recognized by the red colouring of the surrounding rock. After about 1 hour, the canyon widens. During our ascent in 2016, we got out here to the right (about 160 m below sea level) and climbed back to the P2 parking lot (approx. 300 m ascent).
Both the correct exit point and the subsequent path to the top are not easy to find. Our guides made use of a local goatherd for this purpose.
Later, the Wadi Nimr soon joins the Hidan from the north. The Wadi Nimr also brings hot water.
If you walk further downstream, dense vegetation prevents you from moving forward. However, we can bypass this part on a path that walks along the southern slope of the wadi and starts opposite the mouth of Wadi Nimr. The path goes up to about a third of the way up the canyon rim and we follow it for almost 1 km. Then the path leads back down to the river bed. About 2 hours later, the vegetation disappears completely, the canyon becomes narrow again and we descend over many small basalt steps - with swimming interludes in between. We are in the Hidan Siq. Jumps are also possible here - after prior inspection.
Particular caution is advised at a "slide", which in 2012 had to be climbed from below using fixed ropes. In the lower reaches, a sharp stone was so dangerously jammed that there was a risk of injury even during the ascent or descent on the fixed ropes (the river makes a left-hand bend of almost 90 degrees at this point).
Then it's not far (approx. 30 minutes) and we reach the striking final pool with a rock platform above it, which invites us to take a break.
The parts of the Hidan Siq can also be walked on their own and are then approached from below. The starting point is the above-mentioned parking lot at "65" directly on the Dead Sea. From here, follow the route described under "Return" in the opposite direction. First up the bad track, then turn left onto a track coming from the right and follow this track, finally descending steeply to Wadi Mujib. In the Wadi Mujib then upstream until the waters of the Hidan flow into the Mujib through a reed belt from the left, orographic. i.e. from the right.
Through the reed belt up to the large pool described below the "resting place" on the rocky plateau. Then up the stream to a large pot, which used to mark the exit and turnaround point of the tour. In 2012, however, a fixed rope was installed in the chute above. This enabled us to overcome the obstacle. This cleared the way for another unhindered ascent of the Hidan Siq upstream.
The way back is then in the opposite direction.
As a rule, this isolated ascent of the Hidan Siq is also combined with the ascent of the Mujib Siq, see the description there.</desc></wpt><wpt lat="31.48990000" lon="35.67410000">
<desc>v4 a4 IV | 1h10/7h/1h30 | 3.55⭐ | 60m
Comment: P auch für Ausstieg Hidan upper II, Zustieg u.
It also makes sense to walk the Hidan upper II before and then remember the exit for the ascent of the Hidan lower (then as access) (if necessary with GPS logger).</desc></wpt><wpt lat="31.45620000" lon="35.58510000">
<desc>v3 a4 IV | 1h30/2h30/5min | 3.35⭐ | 16m
Approach: We walk back on the "65" again 1.9 km in southern direction. This is followed by a long run to the lower car. The highlights here are the vegetation, a large clamping block above us and the high waterfall
waterfall cascading down into the wadi.
During my visits in 2016 and 2019, we unfortunately had to see that quite at the exit of the canyon from the left from direction "50" a black slurry of dirt cascaded down into the bottom of the canyon. It polluted the stream from then on.

After 6.2 km we cross the Wadi Assal and a little later turn left onto a dirt road that takes us to some ruined houses. Here we park the car for the exit.
The second car takes us back to "65", then to Masra Junction and right again up to Karak. We circle the town center and then take the road south to Mote. After a good 10 km we arrive in Mote.
