Nos encontramos en el enclave del parque natural de Fuentes Carrionas, al pie del Espigüete, tendremos ante nosotros un barranco abierto, con acceso y retorno sencillo por senda muy marcada y magníficas vistas de la cara norte del Espigüente. La cascada es visita obligada para turistas en verano así que seguramente tendremos espectadores. Cuando terminemos nuestra aventura podremos acercarnos al desvío y tomarnos una cerveza fresquita con un riquísimo pincho e tortilla o un buen caldo caliente.

We are in the enclave of the natural park of Fuentes Carrionas, at the foot of the Espigüete, we will have before us an open ravine, with easy access and return by very marked path and magnificent views of the north face of the Espigüente. The waterfall is a must for tourists in summer so we will surely have spectators. When we finish our adventure we can approach the detour and take a cool beer with a delicious skewer and tortilla or a good hot broth.

Debemos situarnos entre Cardaño de Abajo y de Arriba en Fuentes Carrional, al pie del Espigüete. Llegaremos desde Guardo o desde Cervera de Pisuerga por la P210 hasta el embalse de Camporredondo. Una vez en el embalse, vamos justo al lado de Cardaño de Abajo, al p.k. 33,5, en una curva cerrada del embalse, tenemos el desvío hacia Cardaño de Arriba (carretera hacia el norte), con el cordal este del Espigüete a nuestra izquierda y una cabañita en una pradera que los fines de semana, en verano o cuando el tiempo acompaña, hace las veces de bar. Subiremos por esta carretera poco más de 2 kms hasta un aparcamiento habilitado a la izquierda, aparcamos.

We must be located between Cardaño de Abajo and de Arriba in Fuentes Carrional, at the foot of Espigüete. We will arrive from Guardo or from Cervera de Pisuerga by the P210 to the Camporredondo reservoir. Once at the reservoir, we go right next to Cardaño de Abajo, at p.k. 33.5, in a sharp bend in the reservoir, we have the detour to Cardaño de Arriba (road to the north), with the eastern ridge of Espigüete on our left and a small cabin in a meadow that on weekends, in summer or when the weather is good, serves as a bar. We will go up this road for a little more than 2 kms until we reach a parking lot on the left, where we will park.

Desde el aparcamiento sale una pista que va paralela al arroyo Mazobre, seguiremos esta pista con vistas a la imponente cara N del Espigüete, dejaremos a la izquierda el refugio libre y seguiremos por el sendero que nos lleva a la base de la cascada. Aquí suele haber turistas viendo la cascada. Al llegar al mirador de la cascada, justo en la base, sale una senda por nuestra izquierda (derecha orográfica) que remonta la cascada y se dirige hacia la cabecera del arroyo, cuando lleguemos a la pradera en la que se abre el barranco, justo antes del aporte del arroyo por la derecha, ese es el sitio para acceder.

From the parking lot there is a track that runs parallel to the Mazobre stream, we will follow this track overlooking the imposing N face of Espigüete, we will leave the free refuge on the left and continue along the path that leads to the base of the waterfall. Here there are usually tourists watching the waterfall. When you reach the viewpoint of the waterfall, right at the base, a path goes off to our left (orographic right) that goes up the waterfall and heads towards the head of the stream, when we reach the meadow where the ravine opens, just before the contribution of the stream on the right, that is the place to access.
