Von Bad Tölz kommend fahren wir auf der B 13, vorbei an Lenggries, zum Sylvensteinspeicher (21,5 km). Auf der Dammkrone angekommen halten wir rechts auf die B 307 in Richtung Fall, Vorderriß. Nach 10,3 km (ab Dammkrone) erreichen wir Vorderriß (hierher auch von Wallgau über Mautstraße). In Vorderriß lassen wir die Brücke über die Isar rechts liegen und biegen ab auf die Straße in's Rißtal (Richtung Hinterriß). Wir fahren also in südlicher Richtung und kommen nach 2,5 km zur Abzweigung eines Feldwegs, der in Richtung Rißbachufer führt. Hier biegen wir ein und parken unser Auto.

Coming from Bad Tölz we drive on the B 13, past Lenggries, to the Sylvenstein reservoir (21.5 km). Arrived on the dam crest we keep right on the B 307 in the direction of Fall, Vorderriß. After 10.3 km (from Dammkrone) we reach Vorderriß (here also from Wallgau via toll road). In Vorderriß we leave the bridge over the Isar on the right and turn onto the road into the Rißtal (direction Hinterriß). So we drive in southern direction and after 2,5 km we come to the fork of a dirt road, which leads to the Rißbachufer. Here we turn in and park our car.

Wir queren das breite und meist trockene Kiesbett des Rißbaches und halten auf die gegenüberliegende Mündung des Fischbachs zu. Dort auf einer undeutlichen Fußspur oder weglos links (orograf. rechts) hinauf. Oben angekommen stoßen wir auf einen Weg, dem wir nach rechts zum Wehr folgen Hier können wir den Wasserdurchsatz des Fischbachs im Oberlauf prüfen. Nun geht es den Weg wieder in südlicher Richtung zurück. Nach wenigen Metern treffen wir auf einen Forststraße, die wir rechts aufwärts nehmen. Oberhalb des Fischbachs und grundsätzlich etwa parallel zu ihm steigen wir nun an. Nach etwa 3,5 km bzw. fast einer Stunde kommen wir zum abrupten Ende dieser Piste. Es schließt sich ein Steig an, der im weiteren Verlauf teilweise nur undeutlich zu erkennen ist. Auf ihm erreichen wir das breite Kiesbett des Oberlaufs des Fischbachs, unmittelbar, bevor er sich flussabwärts zur Klamm verengt.

We cross the wide and mostly dry gravel bed of the Rißbach and head towards the opposite mouth of the Fischbach. Follow an indistinct footpath or an orographic path to the left (orographic right) uphill. At the top we come to a path which we follow to the right to the dam. Here we can check the water flow of the Fischbach in the upper reaches. Now follow the path back in a southerly direction. After a few meters we come to a forest road, which we take uphill to the right. We now ascend above the Fischbach and basically roughly parallel to it. After about 3.5 km or almost an hour, we come to the abrupt exit of this slope. This is followed by a path, which is only vaguely recognizable in places as we continue. We reach the wide gravel bed of the upper reaches of the Fischbach just before it narrows downstream into a gorge.

Wir wandern und klettern bachab, einige Sprungmöglichkeiten bieten sich an. An einer Stelle haben wir 2013 etwa 4m abgeseilt (Haken war vorhanden). Das Totholz war seinerzeit kein echtes Hindernis. Wenn wir an der Wasserableitung ankommen, können wir einige Meter vorher rechts über eine Metallleiter aussteigen. Will man den Abschnitt unterhalb der Wasserableitung anschließen, so sollte man auf das Totholz gut achtgeben (der Verf. wurde 2013 von einem rutschenden Stamm eingeklemmt und musste mit der Motorsäge befreit werden - anschließend war Heli-Canyoning angesagt). Hier ist die Mitnahme von Setzzeug Pflicht, da Sicherungen für die wenigen Abseiler weitgehend fehlen.

We hike and climb down the stream, with a few possible jumps. At one point we rappelled about 4m in 2013 (anchor was available). The deadwood was not a real obstacle at the time. When we arrive at the water drainage, we can exit a few meters before on the right via a metal ladder. If you want to join the part below the water drainage, you should pay close attention to the deadwood (the author was trapped by a sliding log in 2013 and had to be freed with a chainsaw - heli-canyoning was the order of the day afterwards). It's essential to take your climbing gear with you, as there is a lack of safety equipment for the few rappels.
