This canyon is generally dry except during the rainy season. It consists of 12-13 rappels, several of which can be climbed. Magnificent environment but access and returns are quite hard.

Por la carretera que va de Ronda a San Pedro de Alcántara la A397, a la altura del pk 13,7 tenemos el desvío a Los Quejigales y Sierra de las Nieves. Seguimos por la pista, cogiendo el desvío a Tolox y al Pinsapo de la Escalereta. Aquí podemos dejar un coche P1. Si seguimos llegamos al otro lado del barranco y en una curva a izquierdas, desde la que se ve el inicio del barranco abajo, podemos dejar el coche de acceso P2. Siguiendo por la pista y un par de kms más adelante nos desviamos a la derecha por el camino de la Vereda de la Cruz hasta llegar al fondo del valle P3.

On the road that goes from Ronda to San Pedro de Alcántara the A397, at the height of the pk 13.7 we have the detour to Los Quejigales and Sierra de las Nieves. We continue along the track, taking the detour to Tolox and Pinsapo de la Escalereta. Here we can leave a P1 car. If we continue we reach the other side of the ravine and in a left curve, from which you can see the beginning of the ravine below, we can leave the access car P2. Continuing along the track and a couple of kms ahead we turn right onto the path of the Vereda de la Cruz until we reach the bottom of the valley P3.

Con un solo alto podemos dejarlo en P3, cogemos la ruta de subida al Pinsapo de la Escalereta pero antes de la mitad de la subida, se cruza la valla que llevábamos a la derecha y se toma una pequeña vereda que va llaneando y luego bajando levemente. Desde P1 por el camino del Pinsapo y al llegar a un arroyo seco bajaremos por él. Desde P2 es una bajada por mitad de la ladera pero menos empinada que P1.

With only one stop we can leave it at P3, we take the route up to the Pinsapo de la Escalereta but before the middle of the climb, we cross the fence that we took to the right and take a small path that goes flat and then down slightly. From P1 along the path of the Pinsapo and when we reach a dry stream we go down it. From P2 it is a descent through the middle of the slope but less steep than P1.

Descenso sencillo pero bastante interesante si el barranco lleva agua

Simple descent but quite interesting if the canyon has water in it.

Si salimos a P3 seguiremos el río por la derecha hasta encontrar una senda que nos lleva. Si salimos a P1 deberemos remontar por el camino del Sinsapo

If we leave at P3 we will follow the river to the right until we find a path that leads us. If we go out to P1 we will have to go up the Sinsapo path.

Bastante encajonado el descenso por lo que no hay escapes claros

The descent is quite steep, so there are no clear escapes.
