Von Boaventura oder Arco Sao Jorge tief in das Tal hineinfahren, bei der Bar/Restaurant Portada Richtung Faja do Penedo abbiegen. Der Einbahnstraße bergauf an der Kirche vorbei folgen und weiter bergauf. Gut 750 Meter nach der Bar zweigt schwach rechts eine untergeordnete Straße ab. Dieser bis zum Ende folgen. Hier findet sich ein Parkplatz mit 6 bis 8 Stellplätzen. Bitte platzsparend parken. Die Alternative mit 2 PKW ist aufgrund des sehr schlechten Zustandes der Piste nicht empfehlenswert, sie ist auch nicht zeitsparend.

From Boaventura or Arco Sao Jorge, drive deep into the valley and turn off towards Faja do Penedo at the Portada bar/restaurant. Follow the one-way road uphill past the church and continue uphill. A good 750 meters after the bar, a minor road branches off slightly to the right. Follow this road to the exit. Here you will find a parking lot with 6 to 8 spaces. Please park to save space. Am Anfang des Parkplatzes startet ein Weg Richtung Levada das Faias, diesen dorthin aufsteigen, den Punkt für den Rückweg gut merken. Die Levada überqueren und weiter zur Levada dos Tornos aufsteigen. Hier rechts der Levada folgen, gut 700m weiter liegt der Einstieg. (1h, 400Hm)

At the beginning of the parking lot, a path starts in the direction of Levada das Faias, climb up to it and remember the point for the way back. Cross the levada and continue up to Levada dos Tornos. Follow the levada to the right, the entry point is a good 700m further on. (1h, 400m)

Zu Anfang ist der Weg durch den Wald meist trocken und von ein paar Abkletterreien geprägt. Schnell zeigen sich die ersten kleinen Abseilstelle, meist Seilringe an Bäumen. Je nach Alter sind diese übermoost und daher manchmal schwer zu finden. Derzeit (Oktober 2024) sind alle Seilringe neu und pink, daher gut zu sehen. Der erste hohe Abseiler verfügt über einen Zubringer und einen seilschonenden Stand (jeweils 3 Bohrhaken, zwei davon mit Ring, teilweise neu gesetzt im Oktober 2024). Weiter geht es mit vielen keineren Abseilstellen, bis mit dem sehr schönen Schlusswasserfall ein weiterer 30 Meter Abseiler wartet. Hier gibt es neben dem Seilring am Baum ein Linie links im Trockenen (2 Haken, je 1 Ring) und eine rechts, die im Wasser verläuft (2 Haken, je 1 Ring, neu gesetzt Oktober 2024). Man kann problemlos an der Levada vorbei abseilen, bis man bequemen Boden unter den Füßen hat. (3h)

At the beginning, the path through the forest is mostly dry and characterized by a couple of abseils. The first small abseiling points soon appear, mostly rope rings on trees. Depending on their age, these are over-mossed and therefore sometimes difficult to find. Currently (October 2024), all rope rings are new and pink, making them easy to see. The first high rappel has a feeder and a rope-protecting stand (3 bolts each, two of them with a ring, some of them newly set in October 2024). The route continues with many lower rappels until another 30-meter rappel awaits with the very beautiful final waterfall. Links gibt es einen Pfad, der zur Levada hochführt, dann nach links, bis zum vom Zustieg gemerkten Punkt, dort nach links unten Absteigen, bis das Auto erreicht ist. Die Levada ist an manchen stellen sehr ausgesetzt und mit Vorsicht zu begehen. (25min)
