Descenso corto y fácil si el caudal no es alto. Se considera uno de los mejores barrancos de Picos de Europa. Abundante agua con rincones fantásticos que harán la delicia de todos. El equipamiento es muy bueno pues lo usan las empresas de turismo activo de la zona (Pasamanos y cuerdas auxiliares equipadas). 14.09.2025-Poza que precede al primer salto, dentro del estrecho destaponada, cambia evaluación y acceso al 1er rapel. Ver observaciones! Como todo barranco del norte, tras lluvias intensas entra en carga con la consiguiente peligrosidad. Además, fuera de temporada, las empresas dejan de reponer/arreglar las instalaciones. A tener en cuenta!!!

Por la AS114 entre Cangas de Onís y Arenas de Cabrales tenemos el alto de Ortiguero, y al lado el pueblo de Canales. Tomaremos la carretera que sale de Canales y baja a La Molina 2,5kms. Aparcamos a la entrada del pueblo

By the AS114 between Cangas de Onís and Arenas de Cabrales we have the high of Ortiguero, and next to the village of Canales. We will take the road that leaves Canales and goes down to La Molina 2.5kms. We parked at the entrance of the village

Andando ya con los trastos del descenso cruzaremos el pueblo y, cogiendo la antigua calzada romana, seguimos la ruta de la Garganta del Casañu. Llegaremos al arco natural que da nombre al cañón y a dos puentes, uno de ellos medieval. Seguimos por la derecha, sin cruzar los puentes, para entrar unos metros más allá, al lado de la cueva.

Walking already with the junk of the descent we will cross the village and, taking the old Roman road, we follow the route of the Casañu Gorge. We will reach the natural arch that gives its name to the canyon and two bridges, one of them medieval. We continue to the right, without crossing the bridges, to enter a few meters further, next to the cave.

Empieza con el primer rapel que nos dejará en unos estrechos donde abunda agua. Vigilar con los movimientos de ague en el segudo rapel, mejor saltar y evitar comprometerse. A partir de aquí es un cauce escavado con caos de rocas, pasillos,… una delicia.

Start with the first rappel, which will leave us in some narrows where water abounds. Be careful with the movements of ague in the next rappel, better to jump and avoid compromising yourself. From here on it is a channel carved with chaos of rocks, corridors, ... a delight.

En la última poza, veremos un sendero a nuestra izquierda que, a través del bosque, nos llevará al camino empedrado de acceso
