Update July 2024: The Fragantbach is no longer accessible and closed! After a rockfall, the stream is blocked and woody. In addition, the entry area has been obstructed by a step in the torrent and there is no longer an easy entry. You can still wade up the stream from below, but it's not worth it. The giant boulder with a rock hole no longer exists either. The many flat slides are fun and repeatable. There are no jumps or abseils, so ropes and safety equipment can stay at home. A few steep steps have to be avoided or downclimbed in easy terrain, more difficult sections are defused with fixed ropes. Very scenic.

Über die B106 durchs Mölltal nach Außerfragant. Parkmöglichkeiten beim Fraganter Wirt (um Erlaubnis fragen) oder bei der Kirche gleich daneben.

Auf einer schmalen Asphaltstraße aufwärts Richtung Laas (einige Kehren) bis zu einer markanten Abzweigung. Nach links ist Grafenberg angeschrieben, wir gehen jedoch rechts haltend (geradeaus) weiter Richtung Innerfragant. Auf der einspurigen Schotterstraße 750m eben bis zur Brücke über den Fragantbach. Unmittelbar nach der Brücke rechts auf Steigspuren zum Einstieg. Man kann auch mit einem 2. Auto bis zum Einstieg hinauf fahren (Parkmöglichkeit bei der Brücke), es lohnt sich aber wegen der engen Straße nicht.

Follow a narrow asphalt road uphill towards Laas (a few hairpin bends) until you reach a prominent junction. Grafenberg is signposted to the left, but we keep right (straight ahead) towards Innerfragant. Follow the single-lane gravel road for 750m to the bridge over the Fragantbach stream. Immediately after the bridge, turn right onto the climbing tracks to the entry point. You can also drive up to the entry with a 2nd car (parking at the bridge), but it is not worth it because of the narrow road.

Die Staumauer am Beginn wird rechts umgangen, danach folgen Gehstrecken mit vielen kurzen Rutschen. Steilere Stufen werden seitlich im Trockenen überwunden, verholzte Passagen umgeht man ebenfalls am Ufer. Deutliche Wegspuren zeigen an, wo eine Umgehung sinnvoll ist. Bei hohem Wasserstand ist es ratsam, auf ein paar Rutschen zu verzichten und die Fixseile für die Umgehung zu benützen – der Wasserdruck kann leicht unterschätzt werden. Kurz vor dem Ende kommt das Highlight: Unter einem Riesenblock öffnet sich ein Felsloch, durch das man hinter den Wasserfall gelangt – sehr originell und fotogen! Anschließend noch eine Wanderstrecke bis zum Ausstieg bei der Staumauer eines Kraftwerks.

The dam wall at the beginning is bypassed on the right, followed by walking passages with many short slides. Steeper steps are negotiated laterally in the dry, and woody passages are also bypassed on the bank. Clear path markings indicate where it makes sense to go around. When the water level is high, it is advisable to avoid a few slides and use the fixed ropes for the bypass - the water pressure can easily be underestimated. The highlight comes shortly before the exit: a hole in the rock opens up under a giant boulder, through which you can get behind the waterfall - very original and photogenic! Then it's another hike to the exit at the dam wall of a power station.

Vor der Staumauer rechts heraus auf einen Karrenweg (senkrechte Felswand mit Klettergarten) und in Kürze zurück zur Asphaltstraße, die man nahe der ersten Kurve erreicht.

Before the dam wall, turn right out onto a cart path (vertical rock face with climbing garden) and shortly back to the asphalt road, which you reach near the first bend.
