Desde Lanjarón y la calle Jaén sale un carril asfaltado en gran parte de su recorrido que sube a la sierra. Lo seguiremos hasta llegar a 3 enormes depósitos de agua y aquí aparcaremos donde no molestemos a los operarios ni a los cortijeros.
From Lanjarón and Jaén street there is a paved lane that goes up to the sierra. We will follow it until we reach 3 huge water tanks and here we will park where we will not disturb the workers or the farmers.

Antiguamente la aproximación se hacía por la izquierda orográfica ahora no es posible por conflictos con propietarios privados. Seguiremos por la derecha orográfica el sendero del Cercerillo (sin sol) hasta llegar a la acequia Montalbán (con sombra) la cual seguiremos a la derecha dirección al inicio. SI esta acequia lleva agua quizá no sea buena idea entrar en el barranco, valorar.
Formerly the approach was made by the left orographic now is not possible due to conflicts with private landowners. We will follow the path of Cercerillo (without sun) on the orographic right until we reach the Montalbán irrigation ditch (with shade) which we will follow to the right towards the beginning. If this irrigation ditch carries water, it may not be a good idea to enter the ravine.

Una vez la acequia llega al río en unas bonitas pasarelas nos cambiamos y entramos al cauce,quizá remontando más camino habría algún rapel más. Andamos 100 metros y nos encontramos el R1 de 15 metros muy seguido del R2 de 5 metros. Después de caminar 100metros nos encontramos el mejor rapel del descenso el R3 12metros peligroso con caudal seguido de un destrepe delicado y del R4 de 8 metros. Después un tedioso caminar de 500m dará paso a dos rapelillos más y el final del barranco.
Once the ditch reaches the river in a beautiful walkways we change and enter the riverbed, perhaps going up more road there would be some more rappel. We walk 100 meters and we find the R1 of 15 meters followed by the R2 of 5 meters. After walking 100 meters we found the best rappel of the descent, the R3 12 meters dangerous with flow, followed by a delicate cliff and the R4 of 8 meters. After a tedious 500m walk will give way to two more rappels and the end of the canyon.

Prácticamente inmediato, llegaremos a una captaciones de agua que casi secan el cauce y están muy cerca de nuestro coche.
