Tenemos que llegar a Posada de Valdeón, por la N625 hasta el Pto del Pontón y luego por la LE2711 o por la N621 hasta Portilla de la Reina y aquí por la LE2703. Una vez en Posada iremos dirección Caín, pasaremos Cordiñanes y un kilómetro antes de llegar a Caín, justo donde se abre el desfiladero, tenemos sitio a la izquierda para aparcar. Unos metros antes un puente sobre nuestro arroyo nos permite ver el caudal y evaluar el descenso

We have to get to Posada de Valdeón, by the N625 to Pto del Pontón and then by the LE2711 or by the N621 to Portilla de la Reina and here by the LE2703. Once in Posada we will go towards Cain, we will pass Cordiñanes and one kilometer before arriving at Cain, just where the gorge opens, we have a place to park on the left. A nuestra derecha se abren los prados de Castro, subiremos por el hacia la canal de Moeño, primero pasaremos unas fincas ganaderas, tras el cual el sendero pasa una valla y se aproxima al cauce. Entrada al tramo más acuático, el tercero. Continuamos subiendo por el sendero al lado del arroyo, sobrepasamos un pequeño repecho y espolón sobre el río y vemos a nuestra derecha como se vuelve a abrir el descenso. Entrada al tramo 2. Seguiremos subiendo ahora un rato más largo hasta los 1200m de altura, zona en la que van desapareciendo los árboles y queda solo vegetación de montaña, aquí el sendero se vuelve a acercar al arroyo y este pierde entidad, no está tan encajado. En esta zona es difícil verlo con agua y si la lleva seguramente el descenso sea peligroso. Esta es la entrada al tramo 1

Tres tramos de descenso: 1.- Normalmente seco, es una gorga espectacular, con largos rápeles bastante verticales y con la peor equipación. 2.- El tramo más corto, en su primera parte suele estar seco y poco a poco va cogiendo agua hasta llegar a la toba. 3.- El tramo más acuático, es otra gorga impresionante, cascadas de 30m instaladas tanto de parabolts como en naturales.

Three sections of descent: 1.- Normally dry, it is a spectacular gorge, with long rappels quite vertical and with the worst equipment. 2 .- The shorter section, in its first part is usually dry and gradually picks up water until you reach the tuff. 3.- The most aquatic section is another impressive gorge, with 30m waterfalls installed with parabolts as well as natural ones.

Continuamos hasta el río Cares, hay una subida algo delicada por la trepada a realizar o podemos bajar por el cauce hasta una zona por la que se puede salir fácilmente.
