Por la autopista de Huesca a Barbastro en la salida 77 vamos dirección Abiego/Alquézar. Al llegar a Abiego giraremos hacia Bierge por la A1227. Por la carretera HU-341, antes de las Almunias, nos desviamos por una pista muy destacada (al lado del indicador del Barranco Fondo), pasamos el mirador del Balced y continuamos hasta la explanada (donde se encuentra el panel indicador)

Seguir el río hasta una amplia badina cerrada por un pequeño estrecho, donde se abre la cuenca. En la orilla derecha, dirección NO. sale camino, bien marcado, que entre pinos y bojes nos dejará, de nuevo, en el collado de Colmenares, cerca de donde se haya dejado el coche.
