Por la autopista A44 (desde o hacia Granada) salida 157 Nigüelas. Atravesaremos el pueblo siguiendo el cauce seco del río hacia la presa. Iremos por la pista algo menos de un kilómetro y al llegar a Juan Valiente nos iremos a la izquierda al aparcamiento.

By the A44 freeway (from or to Granada) exit 157 Nigüelas. We will cross the village following the dry riverbed towards the dam. We will go along the track for less than a kilometer and when we reach Juan Valiente we will go left to the parking lot.

Desde el aparcamiento podemos volver a la pista y remontarla o por un sendero remontar hasta la primera curva de la pista. Subiremos por ella aproximadamente 1km hasta ver una pedrera a nuestra izquierda tras unos paredones que encierran la presa allá abajo. Bajaremos por la pedrera hasta la base de la presa.

From the parking lot we can return to the track and go up it or go up a trail to the first curve of the track. We will go up it for about 1km until we see a rocky area on our left behind some walls that enclose the dam down there. We will go down the rocky area to the base of the dam.

Subimos por la escalera de la presa hasta la parte superior, tenemos un pasamanos para acercarnos a montar el primer y más largo rápel. Desde aquí tendremos un recorrido encerrado entre paredones con pequeños rápeles/destrepes hasta que ya se abre el barranco (punto de escape a la izquierda) o realizamos los dos últimos rápeles casi hasta el aparcamiento. Recientemente reequipado en 2022.

We climb the stairs of the dam to the top, we have a handrail to get closer to mount the first and longest abseil. From here we will have a route enclosed between walls with small rappels/destreps until the canyon opens (escape point on the left) or we make the last two rappels almost to the parking lot. Recently re-equipped in 2022.
